How to add a note to a custom object by using soap?

Hi,

We created a custom object in the object designer and checked the Notes checkbox as predefined field to have to possibility to add notes to this custom object.

Now, we want to add a note in c# code, by using SOAP. How can we do this? The documentation does explain this for default objects, but this doesn't seem to work for custom objects.
