Hi all,
I'm a novice when it comes to this aspect of Service Cloud, but hoping to learn... I have spent hours reading the documentation, trawling posts & discussions, and using a certain amount of trial & error - but to no avail.
We have a need to delete around 50,000 Contact records. As far as it goes, it has been thought out and there is a reason to delete these, rather than have them go dormant. We have a custom report that can be run to obtain a list of the Contact IDs - but I want to know how to delete the records without having to go through and manually delete them from the report 250 at a time!
I understand that a Contact record can be deleted using REST by specifying the ID. I also understand from the documentation that I can use analyticsReportResults to run the custom report and return the list of IDs, or I could get the array from queryResults...
What I would like to know is either how to run DELETE operations against multiple Contact IDs. Is it possible to specify a list (csv for instance) when deleting, rather than an ID? Or is it possible to use one of the other methods mentioned above to call up the array of IDs and then delete these? If so, I would be forever grateful if somebody could explain to me how this is done....
I do understand that this is a forum for learning, and sharing - not just a place for being given answers, and whilst I have learnt a huge amount about almost every other aspect of OSvC using the docs and advice available here, I appear to be getting nowhere with this one. If somebody could help me out with this it will not only help with the immediate task at hand, but once I see and understand a solution it normally lets me understand where I went wrong, and allows me to apply the logic to other circumstances and the process as a whole - helping me to help myself (and then hopefully others) going forward.
Many thanks in advance to anybody out there who is willing and able to help me out here Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
